Mermaid Cove ~ MerCo Makeovers ~ Transgender Sim

MALE TO FEMALE

If you played "Tommi" for Sims1, you'll recognize this character immediately. In Sims2, however, you can create a Transgender Sim to look any way you want. The hair used in the screenshots below is the "Jeanette Biederman" hair, expertly converted for males by Cevic, of MTS2, available HERE.

IMPORTANT! READ THIS! "Tommi" (or whatever you name her) walks like a man, talks like a man ~ does everything like a man ~ but lives her life as a woman. These skins are just that: skins. A minor code adjustment (see below) simply makes them available to male Sims. They'll use whatever mesh they usually do. However, the genetic skin underneath will be male, so if you choose a custom skin for your "Tommi," use one with no hair on its chest, and preferably no anatomically correct details; they may show in Undies and Swimwear. "Tommi" reverts to fully male when bathing, showering, or otherwise nude. She'll also wear Male Career Outfits when going to work. Due to limitations in Sims2, there's nothing I can do about that.

I played these skins in my game for four months before releasing them, and have had no problems. As you can see by the screenshots below, there is a slight misalignment where the male head meets the smaller female neck, but it's not too noticeable at normal play distances.

MESH REQUIRED FOR FORMAL: All meshes used are by Maxis, except FORMAL. The gown shown below will be available to both Male and Female Sims. With a minimal working knowledge of SimPE, you can easily edit existing Female skins to make them available to Males. I do not recommend editing existing skins! But it's OK to "clone" them with BodyShop, and edit the "clones," for your personal use only. Distributing others' skins without permission, even if edited, violates international copyright laws.

Open the cloned skin in SimPE (be patient, sometimes it takes a while to open the first file)
Click "Property Set" in the left top window
Click "Property Set" again in the right top window
In left bottom window (CPF Editor), click "gender" to highlight ~ female skins read "0x00000001"
In right bottom window (Value) change the "1" to a "2"
Click Commit button
Click "OK" for "Changes were committed" popup
Save File

Likewise, you can edit Male skins to change their code to Female, to create Female to Male Transgender Sims. The same head-fit issues will be evident, Career Outfits and genetic skin showing through clothing will be female. But it can't hurt to try it out.
