"Rugs" for Sims2 are actually floor files with multiple tile repeats. In other words, they're just floors...but the pattern emerges only when several tiles are covered. Since repeats do not begin with the first tile placed, using these "rugs" in Sims2 can be a pain to place where you want them. For that reason, the best advice I've heard is: "Lay the rug, and build the room around it."

Baby Blankets, on the other hand, are single tiles and very easy to use, anywhere in a room.
